Doggy Stylus

If you were channel surfing on Super Bowl Sunday, you probably passed by something that I found very interesting: The Puppy Bowl.

The Puppy Bowl was a 3 hour long program on the Animal Planet station. It featured over 20 dogs playing with each other in a mock football stadium while easy listening music plays in the background. That's all. Just hours and hours of soft guitar music and dogs frolicking, drinking water, eating treats and resting. Occasionally, the referee would appear in the Puppy Bowl stadium on his knees and blow a whistle. He would say something like "Puppy foul! 20 yard line!" and then clean up dog shit on national television.

Nat and I love bad television because of our MST3K addiction. We must have watched at least half of it, while making jokes about the old ladies who were probably watching it trying to find out what the score was. Then after it finally ended, there was an add that said you could buy the DVD from AP's website. So we did.

I mention that, because I just found a preview of a game for the Nintendo DS called "Nintendogs." I watched this preview video and was shocked at how similar this game appears to The Puppy Bowl. There is no point to either the Puppy Bowl or the Nintendogs game. At least by the looks of that preview video. Upon further inspection, the Nintendog game requires the use of the Nintendo DS's Stylus to "nurture" your virtual pets. And by this awesome flash preview it shows that you can play jump rope with your puppies! JUMP ROPE! I have to get this game!
