Game Boy Around The World

A father has taken pictures of his son playing the Nintendo Game Boy at various scenic locations around the world. Part of me is glad that Nintendo wasn't around when I lived in Europe because I would have missed out on many amazing things, but another part is very jealous because history is boring!

Pokemon no longer causes cancer

It was almost one year ago when scientists had found a gene that causes cancer and named it POKEMON (POK Erythroid Myeloid ONtogenic). The name was indeed clever, but is no more. The reason? Pokemon USA, not wanting its "gotta catch 'em all!" card associated with anything that causes cancer, had threatened to sue Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where the gene had been discovered and the term coined.

The new name for the gene is the not-so-interesting (and unpronounceable) Zbtb7 - as it turns out, Sonic the Hedgehog is already taken.
